I was born on the beautiful Gold Coast, Australia where I lived for 6 months.  Before I could speak my first “G’day,” my parents packed me up, along with the rest of their belongings, and headed to the States to mom’s hometown, Philadelphia.

Not to waste a wakeful moment, I attended college in the city that never sleeps, New York City! In 2004, I moved to the Boogie Down Bronx to attend Fordham University, one of the now critically acclaimed “50 hottest schools”! I majored in Communications & Media Studies, with a minor in Psychology. Naturally, as many before me, I fell in love with the Big Apple. The energy, excitement, eclectic places, and extraordinary people made me feel at home.

At the beginning of my sophomore year at Fordham, I auditioned for Fordham’s news team. At the time, I had no prior television experience, however, I did have a strong desire to be in the entertainment biz, so this seemed to be the perfect place to start!

After a successful screen test, I joined the amazing crew of Fordham Nightly News (FNN). I anchored and reported for the show, airing at 6:30pm. It was in the Fordham Studio where I learned how to report, produce packages, and master the teleprompter. In my last year, I hosted the Fordham Mornings Live Show, airing at 9:00am. This show provided a perfect venue for me; an enthusiastic commentator who is hooked on what’s happening.

My work with FNN and Fordham Mornings secured one of my passions for working onscreen.

Over the course of my four years at Fordham I landed some great internships! I interned with Nicole Miller at the Nicole Miller Showroom in their public relations department. I felt so lucky to be able to work behind the scenes and learn the inside business with Nicole, one of the world’s greatest designers.

In my Junior year, I switched gears and set my sights on television. I interned at NBC Universal where I assisted the segment producer on WNBC’s Today in New York Show and learned the fast track of TV news in the largest media market in America.

That Spring I traveled back to my homeland to study abroad in Sydney, Australia. Now this was an experience of a lifetime! Not only did I get the chance to spend time with my “Aussie” family, and get a taste of a University with 40,000 students compared to the mere 5,000 at Fordham; I also got a chance to do what the Aussies call, “walkabout” and visit different parts of the country.

I traveled north along the white sandy beaches of the East Coast where I “hung ten” during my first surf lesson in Surfer’s Paradise, got cuddly with a baby koala in Cairns, sky dived from 14,000 feet in the air, and dove the colorful waters of the Great Barrier Reef; even to have a quick encounter with a small shark, yikes!

But the adventure didn’t stop there, I flew south to Melbourne where I experienced the hundreds of fairy penguins parade up to the beach at dawn, then flew to the land of the flightless “Kiwi” of New Zealand where my courage was truly tested.  From a platform 400 feet above the ground, and with only 2 straps tied around my ankles, and a small harness around my hips, I took a GIANT leap of faith and bungee jumped “The Nevis.” Between the wild butterflies in my stomach and my prayers to God that I would survive the insane drop, it was the most incredible experience I’ve ever had. Now I can take on anything!

It was difficult to leave the “Land Down Under,” but I had my senior year awaiting me back in the States and was eager to finish up at Fordham!

My summer job before my final year at college was uniting the forces of moms all over the Philadelphia area for my mom’s show, Moms on the Move. I started out as Audience Coordinator, and later got some on-air time for producing a story, advising parents on how to give the famous sex talk to their kids; no easy task but parents sure need to have that talk when the kiddies are young!

Then back to school, between taking my final notes and soaking up my last FU events, I went from the small screen to the big screen interning for Sony Pictures. I got a chance to do some “out of the box” thinking to promote films such as Vantage Point, The Other Boylen Girl, and Made of Honor in the publicity department. I had my very first taste of fame as I ushered stars like Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox down the red carpet for their movie premiere.

Now, after graduating from Fordham with honors and an incredible 23 years of invaluable experiences under my belt, I have my sights set on entertaining, motivating and influencing the world through television, film, and talks to global audiences about Health, Wellbeing, Happiness, Inner Power, and revealing YOUR natural sense.

I am very involved with spreading the word about the power of nutrition and homeopathy after a personal experience with a health trauma that was healed this way. In fact, I am so passionate about educating my age group and all people about what is available to them, that I’ve created this site to give any recently attained wisdom of keeping a healthy mind and body!

However, nutrition and positive thinking are only two ways to bring happiness into your life, energy healing works wonders! I am a certified Reiki Practitioner and practice in the Philadelphia Area. To book a session, Contact Lianda.

I am also a sales consultant for a fantastic Australian Plant-based Skincare line called Simplicite that literally takes years off of your skin! It is pure, plant-extracts, herbs, aromatherapy oils and flowers from Australia- and nothing else!

And, as another creative outlet, I act, host, and model in various projects in the tri-state area and across the country.

So stay tuned and sign up for my updates about the blog and additional projects on the “Contact Lianda” page!
